We’ve always been told not to judge a book by its cover. But nobody has ever told us not to judge the taste of a dessert from its name. As a matter of fact, there’s no trace of stracchino or any kind of cheese in this dessert. The name is due to its elongated shape, similar to stracchino. It also appears that a duchess was involved in the creation of this delicious recipe. We love to think it’s true.
Our Stracchino della Duchessa is made with cocoa sponge cake soaked in coffee and mascarpone cream with chocolate chips and cocoa. What could be more mouth-watering than that? Especially if you enjoy it on a winter evening with your favourite song playing in the background.
